Calcium and phosphorus are of crucial importance to the growth process of young horses where proper amounts of both minerals are required in order for cartilage to be converted into calcified bone. The bones also serve as storage for the calcium-phosphate complex until such times as it is needed. The reserve will be utilised during periods of insufficient intake, periods of stress, and during pregnancy and lactation. Calcium and phosphorus have other functions in addition to their roles in bone structure. Calcium is vital in many bodily functions, and phosphorus is important in metabolic reactions involving enzymes and vitamins. There is an increased need for the two minerals (especially calcium) in older horses, broodmares, young horses and horses subjected to periods of intense effort. Calcium and phosphorus must be in the correct ratio or the two minerals will combine into compounds that cannot be absorbed in the intestine. NAF Di-Calcium Phosphate has been formulated and produced with this in mind, to provide a high quality 1.5:1 supplement of calcium and phosphorus.

Instructions:

Lactating and brood mares: 2 measures (100 g) per day. Young stock: 2 measures (100g) per day
Adult horses: 1 measure (50 g) per day

Storage:

Store in a dry place. Replace lid after use.

Package:

2.5 and 14 k g tubs. A 2.5kg tub fed at 100 g per day will last 25 days.
